{ Hello }

Hello! My name is Karl Orozco and I hail from New Milford, NJ, which is a small suburban town about 20 minutes outside of NYC.

I am a first-year at the College and I am not exactly sure what to major in. I am slightly leaning towards a visual arts major, but I would ideally like to double major in something else as well. I am fascinated by other cultures (especially the food!) and have an interest in web design. I currently reside in Barrows Hall and am loving the community I get from living in a freshman dorm. I would like to use my blog to address some of the initial uneasiness that a lot of us first-years experience. More than anything, I am excited to immerse myself in everything Oberlin has to offer.

I prefer taking everything with a light-hearted tone and a glass-half-full perspective. I love playing tennis, badminton, ping-pong - pretty much any sport that involves a racquet in hand. I am planning on teaching an ExCo on hacky-sacking sometime during my stay at Oberlin. I spend lots of free time Photoshopping, messing around in the silkscreening room, and whistling during a hot shower. I can make cool wallets out of orange juice cartons and I tend to take the scenic route to my next class while marveling at everything around me.
